Did you know the folklore of wishbones as good luck charms dates back to ancient Italy? It was believed that birds possessed the power to tell the future and by preserving their "wishbone" (clavicles) one could harness their divine power. Although we may have forgotten the origin, the superstition has persisted for nearly 3,000 years.

This wishbone silhouette is fixed in place on its chain in a horizontal orientation. Each wishbone is carefully shaped from gold melted and rolled into wire in my studio. No two wishbones are identical due to the hand fabricated nature of my work, but you can expect size and aesthetic consistency.
